Just saw the movie
Mona Lisa Smile, a "pretty period film that combines a quaint pedagogical tale with a feminist dissection of traditional female roles in 1950's society". (Full synopsis
here; trailer
here) . Basically it's a
Girl Power! version of Dead Poets' Society. For the most part I liked the film, and it underscores just how far women have come since the 50's.
Hats off to all the trailblazers -- past, present, and future. (And whatever one may think of Hillary, she should -- in my opinion -- at least be given credit for being a present day trailblazer.)

Obama is dynamic & charming, but Hillary has the brains and the experience. Cheers for girl power!
DB: I do think Obama has brains and experience as well. And I think he would make an excellent president... as would Hillary.
Realizing Hillary is polarizing, I'm saying we should at least give her credit for being a trailblazer, 'cause she is.
.......a double breasted trail blazer.....
(ducks again)
LOL, PG! (You've had to duck a lot lately!)
well technically i think Geraldine Ferraro (however she spells her name) would be in the trail blazer camp too... didn't she run with Mondale once upon a time...
and gee women shined their frying pans? must be why the hotcups use cast iron!
Yes, Geraldine Ferraro is definitely in the trailblazer category too!
And my frying pans are that calphalon stuff. :)
cheers for all the trailblazers, even "lady Pastors"?
that's what they used to call me.
great post and review.
oh, my mom was a huge Ferraro fan, btw.
yes, most definitely "lady pastors"!
