Since I grew up in the Dakotas and have been to the Black Hills many, many (did I mention many?) times, I read this story with great interest. I think the addition of new, well-marked hiking trails would be great, because the last time Hubby and I went hiking around Mount Rushmore we used an unofficial trail. We had some problems.

It just seemed to go from bad to worse...
So hopefully the plan for the new trails will be approved.

Well of course you had trouble on that hike! In addition to being inappropriately attired, that psycho tour guide, Alfred, likely took you down the path under the crazy bird sanctuary, across the vertigo inducing double drop off windy place, then north by northwest past the notorious watchtower over tomorrow.
I think I need a band-aid now.

That would be really cool. National parks are a good source of revenue for states, and that would enhance Mt. Rushmore's even more I think. When they have the trails done that would be fun to visit again and hike around!
