the two dads

I lost my dad in June, and today Mike's dad passed away. Both had been in declining health with diminishing quality of life, so for both it really was a blessing. Of course it is still always difficult.

I was looking through some old photo albums this evening.
Here's Mike (far right) with his dad and brother, 1968 vacation in Big Sur:

Here's me with my dad and brother, 1972 vacation in Minnesota:

I'm so sorry for your losses, and yes, I agree. Even when it's a blessing it's a painful loss just the same.

May God comfort you both in His arms of love.

Sadness for both of you. You're in my prayers.

Barbara,

Prayers for you and Mike and the rest of the family. As you say, even with declining health...the saddness/grief is still very present.

yes, even when the death is a blessing, it remains a sorrow and loss for those remaining...prayers for your family.

Dear Barbara,
I am sorry for your losses, too.
I'll be praying that you and Mike both feel surrounded with comfort and compassion as you move through this difficult time.

Does Dad have a band-aid on his face??

Pretty shot in Minnesota. What city?

Thank you, everyone...

David, I'm not sure about the band-aid; it does sort of look that way though!

The Minnesota resort was in a little place called Dunvilla. We went there a couple of times actually.

Outdoor dads! How fun and wonderful they look.

I know exactly what you mean. I lived the same thing two years ago Halloween. Hugs and prayers to you and your family.

Thanks for sharing the pictures.
