I wasn't going to do another post about Rufus (because I've been told the pictures were faintly disturbing)... but Offspring #2 sent a new picture today (again taken out of his kitchen window) and I just couldn't resist.
Offspring #2 reports they had some snowfall overnight, and a deer came to visit Rufus:
If you reaaaallllllly want to see Rufus -- who looks like a bit of a penguin now -- you can click on the picture to enlarge it. He appears to the left.
I'll give you the close up of the deer though...

I think they're both playing Statue.....Rufus wins. (you've got sharp eyes, david!)
Now if the owl returned to pose, it would be perfect!
how strange...really...
look like a nice place to live and it is a good picture
Thanks, DB :)
What could possibly be disturbing about continuously keeping tabs on a dead bird? ;)
LOL david!!!
I believe there is an ancient omen about dead robins being visited by deer. Something about hair parts I think. As in "It is a bad sign when there is robin' of the dearly deer-parted." Or some such. We studied this in High School Geek Mythology.
Why are robins attracted to your offspring during their college years? I bet Rufus could have been friends with Rhonda.
poor rufus... the deer looks like he has a warm, warm coat!
I think I've been a dog owner too long. I kept looking at that deer thinking it was about to go poop.
