family portrait

Yep, here's the 'Simpsons' version of my family. (We're all ready for a special appearance on the show should the producers ask.) These avatars are actually uncannily good. (Well, Offspring #2 should be taller, but the height can't be controlled.)

Offspring #1 created this family portrait last night. You can create your own Simpsons avatar here!

OH, MY, GOSH!!!!! This is almost perfect! (well...in an artistic sort of way) Your eldest is multi-talented ...and is your youngest. :)

Where do you find these lovely blog toys?

I do hope you don't mind if I keep stealing them!

(Yours makes a lovely Simpson family!)

yes, these are so great, and I have no idea where you get them!

Ok. I'm going straight over and doing my own Simpson version of family...too funny!

This is so cute! I'm too inept to figure it out--went to the site and had no idea what to do. But I appreciate your "art." Thanks.

yeah, I tried it too, but couldn't figure it out. Maybe I'm Sunday and just tired.

Here's a more direct link to "Simsonize" yourself:
http://simpsonizeme.com/#

You upload one of your photos and it will turn you into a Simpson! Offspring #1 did some "fine tuning" there once we were Simpsonized.

Hope the more direct link helps!
(I think you have to register in order to save your avatar.)
Good luck!

I really tried, last night, to create our "family portrait"...but couldn't do it. I am just so blogger illiterate....(wipes tear)...my husband laughed and laughed, had to see what I was trying to do, then just rolled his eyes....

sigh. whatcha gonna do?

Well dang! My daughter is the one who did ours -- it might be harder than it looks. I'm sure she wouldn't mind a trip to Chicago to help you! :)

I could get in and create one character but I could neither save it nor successfully email it to myself despite the steps that walked me through the process. So. I may just have to try again...

Um... I kind of did some tricky things to make a portrait. You can only make one character at a time, and to save it I hit "Alt + Prt Sc." This is basically like getting your computer to take a snapshot of whatever is currently on its screen. Then you paste that image in "Paint" (a program you find in your computer under "Accessories"). Then you crop the image down so its just your Simpson. I did that four times, one for each family member. To put them all together in one portrait, I used Photoshop to paste all of the images together on to one .jpg document. So if it's really, REALLY worth it to people, that's how I did it :)

thanks, offspring #1 -- that WAS a bit tricky!

(and I regret to inform you that I finished off the 'natural 0 trans fat' cheetos -- that's what you get for leaving home again!)

Well I actually bought a bag of 'natural 0 trans fat' cheetos for myself while grocery shopping last night, so I won't have to suffer :)

Ok. thank you offspring #1, and barbara. I'll try it again....in awhile. it is too funny! actually, maybe I should have my Simpson loving 15 year old son do it, it would probably take him 5 minutes...me, several hours...(LOL)...

I am so impressed by the tech level at your house!

Seriously am looking for a place which can help me tell about how I can manage to get a family portrait done. This would make an ideal anniversary gift for my parents. Even a Photo canvas which can make room for all the photos would do fine.
