Want to BAFAB?

It's October 1st and the start of "Buy A Friend A Book" Week! Website is HERE. (First heard about the website over at Yolanda's.)

The concept is to buy a friend a book out of the blue (not because it's their birthday or other special occasion) and just spread some book cheer! I think it would be fun to be on either the giving or receiving end of things. (OK, I'll admit the receiving end might be a teensy bit more fun though.)

Anyway, cool idea... (And I think GAFAB'ing would work too. You wouldn't necessarily have to Buy a new book, just Give a book you had already finished.)

I definitely think I should get a book. Something to keep me entertained during those looooooong and frequent visits to the emergency room.....like the one tonight. Golfing twin got beaned with a ball. Now he has 3 staples (ouchie) in his scalp. Maybe he should get a book, too! Or better yet, a helmet.

Good idea. I'm lunch with a friend on Friday and just happen to have two brand new copies of "Beyond Belief" by Elaine Pagels...because I bought one and someone gave me one....so, I'm going to give her one of them. She got to see Pagels at presentation here in Chicago last Spring...wish I could have gone...

what a really good idea! (though it could be expensive for me.)

mompriest, I missed Elaine Pagels when she was in Portland because of a scheduling conflict. I would love to hear her in person.

I'd never heard of this before. Thanks for the info. I'll have to give it a try!
