thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to my Blogging Pals! I am enjoying a cup of coffee and doing this quick post before the kitchen frenzy begins. (It's always such drama in my kitchen since I am the antithesis of Martha Stewart.) Offsprings #1 and #2 are both home so my nest is happily full.

Dinner will be around 1:00 (with "around" being the key word -- see reference to "kitchen frenzy" and "drama" above). Then, instead of having dessert right after dinner as we usually do, we will prepare for the First Annual Pilgrim and Native American Pie Sharing which will happen at 4:00. To help commemorate the original Thanksgiving (er... make that because we are silly), my family (dressed as Native Americans) will get together with marie's family (dressed as Pilgrims) and eat pie together. We've all worked hard (ok, not that hard) on our costumes, and I'm thinking this should be a fun, new twist to our Thanksgiving celebration.

Well, I better go check on my turkey -- Can I get it fully thawed in time?? The drama begins...

I'm planning on using the "blow torch" method on my frozen bird. You'll know how successful it was when you see me at 4:00. Pie...Pie....I want to eat pie!!!!

Happy Thanksgiving! Offspring #4 (MJ) and I went to a movie while you were enoying the First Annual Pilgrim and Native American Pie Sharing. Hope that was enjoyed by all. We saw "Enchanted" and found it to be cute.

so barbara now i have a mental image of seeing you passed out in a recliner, with leftover pie crumbs dribbling down the front of your shrit, and your fingers blistered from having sewn so many tiny beads onto the mocassins you made this week...

wake up and grab yourself some more pie! (mmm and coffee too of course)

What a cool idea for Thanksgiving! Plus you get to dress up. That is a bonus in itself. But then, pie too? Wow.

All you luckies who got to see Enchanted! I'm taking Wonderboy tomorrow since his dad has a cold and we had to cancel a visit with friends.

I'll be very very very thankful if you post a picture of yourself and all in costume!!
