Friday Five: What's New

Songbird writes about a new baby on her street who has her "thinking about all the new things that please us with their shiny freshness." For this week's Friday Five we are supposed to "share five things you like *especially* when they are new."

1. New books. I like the way they smell when you flip through the pages. (This is one drawback of the Kindle, but I still love my Kindle!)

2. New snow. What could be more fresh?!

3. New hiking trails. Ooh, the call of adventure as you discover a new path!

4. Opening a new package of my faaaavorite molasses cookies. (Yes, I'm addicted.) The first cookie is so soft and delicious, but the longer the package is open, the less soft and delicious they get. *sniff*

5. Hint to family: I would *especially* like a new canoe if I got one for Christmas...

What kind of cookies are those? I guess you and Cavid are going skiing!

Yeah, love the cat pic! Good play! (We have a couple of overlapping items on our lists.)

Great play, I like new snow too -- old snow, not so much especially when it gets all grey and nasty here in town.

Hope your family looks at your blog!

I agree about new books, though I am surprisingly enjoying my new Kindle.

New snow is always beautiful, but I don't get to see that anymore.

all good!
wonder how santa will fit that new canoe under your tree?.....for the movie movie fans in your family "Scott Calvin" might have some advice. :)

Ha ha. I didn't think about leaving hints. Hmm. A new wii fit and an eliptical trainer are on my list, but I think we'll only afford one.

And it's been years since I've been cross country or downhill skiing...but I hope sometime I'll know fresh show again.

Love books too! The snow... not so much. Round these parts... even 1/2 inch of snow closes everything down and all of the bread and milk are scarfed up at the grocery store. Hope you get the canoe!

what great answers! didn't even think of new snow.

and I didn't think about new books (probably because I love old books, too. it's just books, books, books, all the time).

we need to talk about your kindle.

Great play. Love the hint dropping idea and the cat picture. New snow must be a beautiful sight. Wouldn't know here. Still swatting mosquitos.

I'll wait for you at the bottom of the slopes in the NEW ski lodge relaxing in front of the fire with a NEW book.

I'll be sitting by the fire with Purple (petting the resident cat) fun play, as always!
